Q:
What is SSL and how does it protect my privacy?
A: SSL - Secure Sockets Layer is a
security standard protocol developed to provide secure communications
between a client (you) and the host (our web server). The basic function
of SSL is to encrypt the information at your computer and
then decipher it when arrives at our web server. The data is intended to be unreadable
en route. SSL also provides server and client authentication so that
their identities are verified.
In order to protect the privacy of your Partner and Contribution
information we have acquired a Secure Socket Layer
Certification.
SSL Server Certificates are installed on
our web servers giving you the ability to communicate securely with your
information on our site. SSL protects all communications with
your sensitive organization information, and ensures that foreign
hackers do not detect your passwords. SSL security makes
eavesdropping on your web traffic almost impossible.
